NATURAL DENTAL CARE

By Herbalist Dr. Linda Kingsbury

Topical care

Floss – after every meal or at least once a day.

Snacking on crunchy, fibrous foods, such as a carrot or celery stick, stimulates the gums.

Rub your gums – simply massaging your gums with clean fingers. Add a little myrrh or Oregano tincture to help tighten tissues and for its antibacterial properties.

Placing a clove bud near a sore tooth or gums can numb the gums and ease dental associated pain.

Antibacterial Mouth Rinses

Sea salt - add a pinch or so of sea salt to warm water and rinse after each meal.

Hydrogen peroxide – add 1 tsp. in 1 cup of warm water. Use 2x aday.

Myrrh – especially great for cold sores. Add 1 dropper of the tincture to 1-2 oz. of warm water and rinse 2-3x a day.

Supplements

CoQ10 – 30mg 2x a day. Take coenzyme Q10 with food. As a fat-soluble compound, it is absorbed most efficiently when consumed with a food containing some fat, such as peanut butter. For the same reason, look for capsules or tablets that contain coenzyme Q10 in an oil base (such as soybean or another oil).

Emergen-C 1-2 packets a day. High in C and B vitamins
